After a puzzling 3.5 month wait, Apple has finally approved Airband, an app for iPod touch and iPhone users to play music directly from their MP3tunes locker. Google fans will find a beta version of the first MP3tunes app in the Android marketplace. With both devices, your entire music library is just a couple of clicks away. Users can break free of the local storage limits on their mobile device and stop having to constantly sync to keep their music updated.
Notable features found in both the Apple and Google products:
- Browse by artist, album or playlist
- Stream music in user definable quality (28k-192k)
- Access over 3G or wifi
- Free application
Our vision at MP3tunes is to make your music available on all your devices. Mobile phones are increasingly becoming capable music players and obsoleting those old iPods. These new applications expand our support which already includes PCs, internet radios, and car devices. Here's how to try them out on a supported mobile device:
iPod touch/iPhone Users:
Step 1: Search for Airband in the Apple app store and install it. (no charge)
Step 2: Open the Airband app and enter your MP3tunes locker info or the demo account info. If you don't have an MP3tunes locker you can use the demo locker credentials below.
Step 3: Browse to a track, album, or playlist and select it to begin playing.
Give us your feedback about how we can improve on this version here.
Android Users:

If you don't have a MP3tunes locker you can signup for a free locker here and, in the interim, use the demo locker:
Username: demo@mp3tunes.com
Password: demo
A couple songs to listen to from the demo locker are Artemis' eerie Fountain of Life or Hip Hop for Dummies by DCNY
Both of these applications were built by MP3tunes users wanting to listen to their personal library of tunes in more places. If you have an idea for a music application use our free API to build your own music program.
