Tipping Point - PC Club

Today, PC Club announced they are now stocking LindowsOS computers on store shelves in more than 50 stores. This marks the first time that a retail chain has committed to desktop Linux by putting computers on their store shelves.

I believe we'll look back on PC Club as the tipping point for desktop Linux. Most retailers are reactive — they don't change unless the competitive landscape compels them. PC Club is the first major retail chain to respond to consumer demand for affordable computers. PC Club has an immediate $100 pricing advantage over all other retailers because they're saving the $100 that Windows XP costs per machine.

PC Club offers a unique service: order online and pick up from the store. This is the best of both worlds — the ease of online ordering plus the immediacy of an actual store.

Hunting for the X-File Ghost

AI will soon rule the world. It will decide if you paid your taxes, qualify for a mortgage, whether your kid is admitted to university, if someone is eligible for parole, if you've been naughty on social media, etc. EVERYTHING. But what happens if it's WRONG? Here's an unbelievable and ominous situation where a cybersecurity company publishes a report stating an American company was part of a Chinese cybercriminal organization. The story spread around the world. One enormous problem: the software they claim as evidence doesn't exist, but nobody bothered to research it. No news site. No security companies. Nobody. Well, I decided to research it, and here's my results.
