YouTube Battle Over Music Search & Storage

MP3tunes has filed opposition to EMI's arguments about why Sideload.com and MP3tunes' personal cloud storage are copyright infringing. We turned up great evidence: EMI itself directs people to download free MP3s they uploaded to Rapidshare — which they claim is a known piracy haven and criticize Sideload.com for linking to.

For the first time in a copyright battle, videos were submitted to court and open for the world to view. They demonstrate that Sideload links to the exact same songs at the exact same locations as Google and Bing search engines.

EMI's position has astonishingly flip-flopped: originally claiming MP3tunes makes too many unauthorized copies of their works; now complaining that MP3tunes doesn't make ENOUGH copies. This complete reversal illustrates why DMCA protection is required — labels will always be able to manufacture an argument about why any technology is infringing.

Hunting for the X-File Ghost

AI will soon rule the world. It will decide if you paid your taxes, qualify for a mortgage, whether your kid is admitted to university, if someone is eligible for parole, if you've been naughty on social media, etc. EVERYTHING. But what happens if it's WRONG? Here's an unbelievable and ominous situation where a cybersecurity company publishes a report stating an American company was part of a Chinese cybercriminal organization. The story spread around the world. One enormous problem: the software they claim as evidence doesn't exist, but nobody bothered to research it. No news site. No security companies. Nobody. Well, I decided to research it, and here's my results.
