Music Search Engines Under Attack

There are many meta search engines for free MP3 files, but none for commercial MP3s. I created MP3 Store Guide which profiles more than 30 MP3 stores and includes a meta search feature.

On the topic of music search engines, here are excerpts from our recent court hearing:

MP3tunes Attorney: 'It's fairly extraordinary that in 2009, the record business is still trying to shut down a search engine. Sideload.com is a search engine. It is like Google. You don't download anything using Sideload. All it does is post links, the same way that Google does.'

The Court: 'Do you [EMI] agree that if the plaintiffs distribute music for free on the Internet, the fact that those songs are somewhere on MP3tunes' site is not infringement?' EMI Attorney: 'I think it still is infringement.'

If Sideload is infringing, then Google is too, since they link to millions of MP3 files. Anyone who uses a search engine should care about this outcome.

Hunting for the X-File Ghost

AI will soon rule the world. It will decide if you paid your taxes, qualify for a mortgage, whether your kid is admitted to university, if someone is eligible for parole, if you've been naughty on social media, etc. EVERYTHING. But what happens if it's WRONG? Here's an unbelievable and ominous situation where a cybersecurity company publishes a report stating an American company was part of a Chinese cybercriminal organization. The story spread around the world. One enormous problem: the software they claim as evidence doesn't exist, but nobody bothered to research it. No news site. No security companies. Nobody. Well, I decided to research it, and here's my results.
