EMI Loses Case - I Get To Keep My Minivan

Nearly one year ago, EMI sued both MP3tunes and me personally for copyright infringement. The court just handed down a ruling giving us a win for half the case. Judge Pauley dismissed the claims against me personally.

Personal lawsuits are a gravely serious matter. Increasingly, media companies are suing CEOs as individuals to intimidate them into settling. Faced with the possibility of losing their homes, CEOs often relent. I had the same personal pressures but decided to stand up to their threats.

The Judge dismissed the suit against me, clearing the way for the case against MP3tunes to proceed. Our position: consumers should have the right to listen to their personal music collections anywhere, just like they can view their photos, email, and videos from multiple places. EMI doesn't want 'your music everywhere' to happen, but as the world moves to the cloud, it's a technological inevitability.

Hunting for the X-File Ghost

AI will soon rule the world. It will decide if you paid your taxes, qualify for a mortgage, whether your kid is admitted to university, if someone is eligible for parole, if you've been naughty on social media, etc. EVERYTHING. But what happens if it's WRONG? Here's an unbelievable and ominous situation where a cybersecurity company publishes a report stating an American company was part of a Chinese cybercriminal organization. The story spread around the world. One enormous problem: the software they claim as evidence doesn't exist, but nobody bothered to research it. No news site. No security companies. Nobody. Well, I decided to research it, and here's my results.
