My computing time is shifting from my PC to my phone. What's bothersome is that different people communicate via SMS, IM, and email, so I end up having to toggle between programs inefficiently. SMS, IM and email are similar — they're just blasts of words sent between people. I shouldn't have to launch multiple programs.
Starting today, you can use the new Gizmo5 on your mobile phone to do IM, SMS and email in one place. When a user is not available via IM you can type a message and select an alternate delivery method — SMS or email. If they reply, it automatically appears in the chat tab with that user. This makes it possible to have a chat-type experience with anyone even if they're an email or SMS user.
