Is the Insider Program Right for You?

The Insider program has attracted a small but enthusiastic group. Here are the five categories of Insiders:

1) Tech Wizards: actively steer development and provide technical feedback. 2) Choice Advocates: quietly support the mission, like supporting public radio. 3) Value Seekers: looking for an economical solution for home, school or business. Microsoft's activation codes will be costing families more than $54 billion over the next 6 years. 4) Penguins: want to experience Linux but been frightened by complexity — LindowsOS installs right alongside Windows 98 with no special knowledge. 5) ABM (Anything But Microsoft): sworn off Microsoft products entirely.

Whether Tech Wizard, Choice Advocate, Value Seeker, Penguin or ABM, there are many reasons to sign up as an Insider. I thank you for your support as we bring choice to computers!

Hunting for the X-File Ghost

AI will soon rule the world. It will decide if you paid your taxes, qualify for a mortgage, whether your kid is admitted to university, if someone is eligible for parole, if you've been naughty on social media, etc. EVERYTHING. But what happens if it's WRONG? Here's an unbelievable and ominous situation where a cybersecurity company publishes a report stating an American company was part of a Chinese cybercriminal organization. The story spread around the world. One enormous problem: the software they claim as evidence doesn't exist, but nobody bothered to research it. No news site. No security companies. Nobody. Well, I decided to research it, and here's my results.
