The $199 PC, Microsoft Corp. v. Lindows.com Update

Lindows.com will soon announce a newly-configured $199 computer. Just like Southwest Airlines made flying possible for a new group of people, Lindows.com stands to do much the same by bringing the TOTAL cost of computing down.

On the Microsoft lawsuit: while the judge blocked their request to shut us down, a trial is looming for April 2003. At that time, the Judge will decide whether Microsoft has a valid trademark for the word 'windows' and whether Lindows.com is confusing. In the interim, Microsoft is demanding everything from our business plan to our partner list.

We could use your help gathering evidence showing the usage of the words 'windows', 'window' and 'windowing' before and after 1983, the date Microsoft first filed its trademark application. Email magazine articles, academic papers, product manuals — anything — to legal@lindows.com. Thanks for all your help.

Hunting for the X-File Ghost

AI will soon rule the world. It will decide if you paid your taxes, qualify for a mortgage, whether your kid is admitted to university, if someone is eligible for parole, if you've been naughty on social media, etc. EVERYTHING. But what happens if it's WRONG? Here's an unbelievable and ominous situation where a cybersecurity company publishes a report stating an American company was part of a Chinese cybercriminal organization. The story spread around the world. One enormous problem: the software they claim as evidence doesn't exist, but nobody bothered to research it. No news site. No security companies. Nobody. Well, I decided to research it, and here's my results.
