Accomplishing What The Courts Cannot

By now most of you have read about the Judge's ruling in the Microsoft case which disappointed many. As a Microsoft competitor, we feel first hand the brunt of their actions. When we started selling at Walmart.com, Microsoft's CEO contacted the world's largest retailer to discuss their plans to sell LindowsOS machines. Presumably not to congratulate them.

Regardless of the legal outcome, I believe customers are tired of overpaying and will seek out affordable options. It is no longer necessary to purchase expensive Microsoft Windows software. A single $99 fee provides access to a list of high-quality programs — comparable to $2,000+ of Microsoft software purchases. StarOffice vs. Microsoft Office, GIMP vs. Adobe Photoshop, GNUCash vs. Quicken, and 150+ games.

The dramatic savings makes a complete Linux solution the right choice for many customers and ultimately accomplishes what the courts have yet been unable to do — bring choice back to the desktop.

Hunting for the X-File Ghost

AI will soon rule the world. It will decide if you paid your taxes, qualify for a mortgage, whether your kid is admitted to university, if someone is eligible for parole, if you've been naughty on social media, etc. EVERYTHING. But what happens if it's WRONG? Here's an unbelievable and ominous situation where a cybersecurity company publishes a report stating an American company was part of a Chinese cybercriminal organization. The story spread around the world. One enormous problem: the software they claim as evidence doesn't exist, but nobody bothered to research it. No news site. No security companies. Nobody. Well, I decided to research it, and here's my results.
