Today at the Desktop Linux Summit we're announcing two exciting products. 1) LindowsFamily: the first product in what will be a large product category — Family Computers. LindowsFamily combines LindowsOS with SurfSafe web filtering that works with any net connection (DSL, cable modem or dialup) and blocks objectionable web content AND pornographic spam email. Unlike MSN and AOL Parental Controls which only work in one browser window, SurfSafe is integrated into the OS so it works with all software. Available for under $300 at Walmart.com.
2) The $799 Lindows Mobile PC: Just like Lindows.com broke through the price barrier on desktops with the $199 computer, we're now doing the same for notebooks. It weighs just 2.9 pounds with 933 MHz processor, 256MB RAM, 12.1 TFT display. No other computer is so ideally suited for mobility at this price.
