Change is Good

Two changes at Lindows.com: 1) LindowsOS 4.0 will ship with a new browser, email and instant messenger, each with features our users have requested. We'll be losing the ability to check AOL email from within our new mail client. However, we'll be bundling an industry-leading net suite that offers the best experience bar none.

2) We're changing our tagline. When we first launched we said 'Bringing Choice To The Desktop Computer.' We've largely accomplished that goal — consumers do have a choice today. Now we need to emphasize our most important advantage: affordability. Microsoft is pocketing nearly a billion dollars of profit EVERY month. Our new tagline: 'The World's Most Affordable Software.'

Almost every product category has an affordable line: Southwest and Jet Blue for airlines, Walmart for department stores. Now there's one for software.

Hunting for the X-File Ghost

AI will soon rule the world. It will decide if you paid your taxes, qualify for a mortgage, whether your kid is admitted to university, if someone is eligible for parole, if you've been naughty on social media, etc. EVERYTHING. But what happens if it's WRONG? Here's an unbelievable and ominous situation where a cybersecurity company publishes a report stating an American company was part of a Chinese cybercriminal organization. The story spread around the world. One enormous problem: the software they claim as evidence doesn't exist, but nobody bothered to research it. No news site. No security companies. Nobody. Well, I decided to research it, and here's my results.
