LindowsOS is better than Windows XP at basic Internet operations like browsing, email, and IM, and with StarOffice is more than adequate to avoid paying $400 for Microsoft Office. However, that doesn't mean it's better at every task yet. One major hole: a solid WYSIWYG HTML editor like FrontPage or Dreamweaver.
Today Lindows.com is announcing backing for Nvu (pronounced N-view) — with money, engineers, and specifications. This will bring to Linux a solid WYSIWYG HTML editor with web publishing abilities. We're leveraging Mozilla Composer code.
A few great Linux programs you've probably never heard of, all available via Click-N-Run: Moneydance (personal finance), America's Army (military game), GnomeMeeting (video conferencing), Scribus (page layout like PageMaker), DigiKam (digital camera management), Cinelerra (professional video editing), MrProject (project manager like MS Project).
