Microsoft has quietly instituted an initiative to undercut Lindows.com in key accounts. If Microsoft sales representatives believe there's a credible threat for a substantial LindowsOS installation, they can request authorization to offer more than 50% off previous pricing levels to stop the adoption of LindowsOS. The program goes under cleverly disguised names like 'competitive pricing' and 'marketing development funds.'
To qualify: have an installation of LindowsOS machines and/or sign up for the LindowsOS builder program and convince the Microsoft sales representative your business is placing a larger LindowsOS order. Armed with this, it's possible to negotiate radical discounts on Microsoft products.
Aggressive pricing competition is normally a good sign that capitalism is working. Unfortunately, Microsoft can use the billions they've taken from consumers to fend off new competitors. For those choosing LindowsOS, our $99 fee fulfills all basic software needs — and it includes the ability to work with all Microsoft formatted documents.
